Head of Denmark

This feels like one of the most exciting things that we have ever been able to share with our community. With setting up our business in Denmark we were on the lookout for a strong, highly qualified, eager, and passionate person to fill the position of Head of Denmark. It is with the greatest excitement that we can now announce that this position will be taken on by our very own Ann Hege Frøseth.

Ann Hege has been part of AvantGarde Search since 2020 and has not only contributed to AvantGarde Search in an incredible personal way, but actively developed our company since she joined. Therefore, it felt not only as the right choice, but more as an obvious choice to embark on our next journey together with Ann Hege as Head of Denmark. She brings not only her expertise, kindness, and professionalism to Copenhagen, but also the AvantGarde Search DNA.

Ann Hege took some time aside for a quick interview about her motives, goals, and vision. I hope that everyone who reads this will ultimately and immediately understand why this has been such an easy decision.

What exciting news, Ann Hege! How do you feel about taking this step?

“I'm absolutely thrilled about this new chapter in my career. Joining AvantGarde Search in 2020 was already an exciting journey, but taking on the role of Head of Denmark is an exciting opportunity and not least challenge. I feel overall enthusiastic and motivated for the Danish adventure ahead. And of course, I also feel proud and grateful to have been given the trust with this new role.”

Why did you decide to take on this challenge to be our new Head of Denmark?

“The decision to become the Head of Denmark for AvantGarde Search was driven by a combination of factors. First of all, the Danish market aligns perfectly with our expertise and agility, particularly within the vibrant startup ecosystem. Second, I truly believe in our vision and the potential to disrupt the traditional recruitment industry in Denmark too, much like we have done in Oslo. Lastly, my love for Denmark and its culture played a significant role in my decision. It's a professional and personal challenge that I´ll wholeheartedly embrace.”

Starting at AvantGarde Search almost three years ago as a Talent Sourcer, did this feel like the natural step for you?

“Yes, it felt like a natural progression in my career. My passion for recruitment and my involvement in various types of roles for exciting tech companies in Norway has provided me with valuable experience. The past few years with AvantGarde Search have been a learning curve, and I've grown both professionally and personally during this time. Becoming the Head of Denmark was a logical step in my career to keep growing and learning.”

When do you start, and do you move there?

“I am indeed moving there and cannot wait! While I won't officially relocate to Copenhagen until January 2024, we're already operational and actively engaging with the Danish market. I'll be traveling a bit back and forth in the meantime, so if anyone is interested in connecting over coffee, I'd love to meet up.”

How do you think it will be like to go all in and move to a new city?

“Moving to a new city is always an exciting adventure. While it will undoubtedly come with its challenges, I'm genuinely looking forward to diving into the Danish culture and startup environment. I undoubtedly see this as an opportunity for personal and professional growth!”

Once you are settled in and get off to a great start, how do you plan on building up the Danish office?

“Building the Danish office will involve a combination of strategic planning, networking, and teamwork. We'll leverage the lessons learned from our successes and failures in Oslo to establish a strong presence in Denmark. It's essential to understand the local market and tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of Danish startups and scale-ups.”

Have you already gotten a good insight into the Danish market?

“Yes, we've been actively researching and engaging with the Danish market. We've identified key opportunities and potential challenges, and we're prepared to adapt and innovate our recruitment approach to best serve the needs of Danish businesses.”

How are you trying to secure new business, and do you think you are already on a good track there?

“Securing new business in Denmark involves building strong relationships, understanding the unique challenges faced by companies in the market, and offering tailored recruitment solutions. We've made promising initial contacts, and our approach is gaining traction. While there's still much work to be done, I'm confident that we're on a good track to make a significant impact.”

Will you take some inspiration from the Oslo office with you to Denmark?

“Absolutely, we see the success and innovative spirit of the Oslo office as a source of inspiration. We'll leverage the best practices, strategies, and values that have driven our growth in Oslo to build a strong foundation for AvantGarde Search in Denmark.”

What are your overall goals for Denmark? Can you break that down into some milestones for the foreseeable future?

“Our overall goal for Denmark is to establish AvantGarde Search as a trusted recruitment partner within the startup and scale-up ecosystem. In the foreseeable future, we aim to achieve the following milestones:”

·       Establish a strong presence in the Danish market within the first year.

·       Build a talented and dedicated team in Copenhagen.

·       Forge partnerships with key players in the Danish startup ecosystem.

·       Secure a portfolio of clients and make meaningful placements.
