How would you say you tailor your recruitment process to meet the unique needs of different companies?

I firmly believe that knowledge is power. The more you know, the better equipped you are to succeed. That's why I believe that research on the company prior to the initial meeting is crucial. This preparation allows me to ask more relevant questions and better map out the ideal process for the client. We act as advisors to both the client and the candidate. If I believe the process the client is pursuing isn't effective, or if they're measuring the wrong things, I communicate that immediately. At the end of the day, we're both working toward finding the perfect fit, so it's important not to shy away from speaking up.

After understanding the client and what they’re looking for, how do you ensure that candidates align with the company’s values?

Finding the right fit is a bit like dating: there are different boxes that need to be checked, and it’s a two-way process. It’s not just about the company finding a fit, but also about the candidate feeling that the company is a good fit for them. Being transparent with candidates about not only the technical requirements but also the company’s culture is essential. This is especially critical for the companies we work with, as they are often at an early stage and are in the process of building a strong workplace culture.

With many successful hires under your belt, what’s one of your proudest moments since becoming a recruiter here?

Since I’m relatively new, I don’t have a long track record yet. However, my proudest moment so far has been helping a company find a new CTO. Both parties were extremely pleased with the match, making it my proudest achievement to date.

What’s a unique activity you do outside of work that helps recharge you?

Unofficially, I’m known as AvantGarde's Chief Sports Officer. This comes from my long history of trying different sports throughout my life. Currently, I play handball and also coach my team. It’s a great way for me to recharge and maintain balance.

What personal values align most with AvantGarde?

The values of inclusion and curiosity strongly align with AvantGarde. I have a constant hunger for knowledge, and I’m known for asking a lot of questions to gather as much information as possible. This helps me build a more complete picture and give better advice. When it comes to inclusion, I believe that individuals from diverse backgrounds bring fresh perspectives that challenge the status quo in innovative ways.

How would your colleagues describe your personality in three words?

Reliable, honest, and open-minded.

Which office pet would you want to adopt?

I’m definitely a dog person. If I had to choose, I’d probably go for a Husky or a Golden Retriever!

If the team had a theme song or motto, what would it be?

"Work smarter, not harder."

What’s one 'superpower' you think is necessary to thrive in this company?

Grit and adaptability. You need to stand firm in your beliefs to challenge the status quo, while also adapting to the evolving needs of both clients and candidates. It’s a fast-paced environment, so being able to keep up is crucial.
