Get to know Amanda Wörne, “Our Recruitment Specialist and Chief Gaming Officer”

During the next few weeks, we will be posting brief interviews with our employees so that clients and potential clients can get to know us all a little better, both how we go about recruiting, but also a deeper insight into who we are.

Amanda is first out and Amanda is responsible for technical recruitment to technology companies in the Oslo area.

So Amanda, how do you tailor your recruitment process to meet the unique needs of different companies/clients?

First and foremost, I get to know the company and get a deep insight into the culture and the people. Sometimes my clients don`t exactly know what they are looking for in a candidate ( I experience this especially for early phase companies) which gives me the space to also act as an advisor for them to ensure we find what best fits them to meet their current needs and challenges.

And when you have an understanding of what your client is looking for, how do you ensure that candidates are a good fit for the company’s values?

Even if the candidate has the required qualifications, I always ensure that the role also align with the candidates ambition and interests. For me, it´s important that it´s a great match for all partis involved. I often ask candidates what they look for in an employer and never oversell either to the client or the candidate. Being real and honest is essential when it comes to creating a good match.

You have done many hires over the last year, but what’s your proudest moment since becoming a recruiter here?

One of the moments I felt the proudest in my work was when I received some truly heartfelt feedback from a candidate. At the time, I recruited for a company and initially reached out to the person on Linkedin. Through our conversations, I got to know the struggles he had been facing and that they had thought about looking for other jobs, but hadn´t gotten the time or energy to do so. As the recruitment process moved forward, they blossomed and ended up landing the position! They later reached out to me saying I was a big part in changing their life for the better, which touched my heart!

But what about outside of work?  What do you do that helps recharge the batteries?
I enjoy sports and games, of every kind. For me board games, game nights with my friends, trying out new sports, and being active is the way to gain more energy and recharge my batteries! Also playing games such as sudoku or other types of brain activities is something I reallyenjoy.

What personal values align most with the Avant-Garde?
EMPATHY is a value I feel I possess and aligns with Avant-garde.

How would your colleagues describe your personality in three words?
That’s a tricky question, maybe (and hopefully) they would say, THOUGHTFUL, POSITIVE, CREATIVE

Which office pet would you want to adopt? (we can add a picture of the dog!)

SCAMPI, I love ScampiI!!

If the team had a theme song or motto, what would it be?

The Motto according to me would be “You can have fun and be professional at the same time!”

What’s one “superpower” you’d say is necessary to thrive in this company?

Collaborative skills.

You must be persistent, keep pushing through hard times.

Thank you Amanda for taking the time to introduce yourself on the blog!!
