Equipment Specalist | Stavanger

What if:

Your next job has direct impact to reduce carbon emissions and costal pollution?

Your next company aims to reduce fuel consumption for shipping more than Tesla did for cars?

You next role will be a key to implement this ground-breaking technology?

Does it sound like a dream? Well – it may become your reality!

On behalf of the Stavanger-based start-up company Shipshave AS, we are proud to present an opportunity of a lifetime for the right person. We are looking to fill the position of an Equipment Specialist

Shipshave AS was founded in early 2019 by Rune Freyer, one of the most successful serial entrepreneurs in Stavanger. His vision is to make hull performance easy. The first product is a robot which gently removes biofouling during transit. Using hydrodynamics, the robot ensures a clean hull during transit and before arrival at destination. Testing has proved the technology works and can save substantial fuel cost for shipowners.

You can read more about the technology here:

The company has major ambitions on both technology and environmental improvements. You will be given the possibility to strongly impact both.

Your main responsibilities will be to participate in tool assembly, preparation, modification and repairs. You will be a part of the whole chain from ideas to implementation and handover on deliveries to customers. Shipshaves tools require knowledge in both the mechanical and electrical disciplines. Add to this experience in 3D CAD and you can be the one we are looking for.

Shipshave AS will continue grow the product line and you will be contributing to the development and delivery.

As mentioned, implementation and handover is a part of the job. At times you might travel to the customer and the vessel for doing so. But Stavanger will be your main workplace.

What´s in it for you?

The position is a good career opportunity within mechanics, automation and hydrodynamics. You will spend time in the office, workshop and out at location. And we can also offer the right person to contribute to the fight against climate change and pollution.

We would also like to highlight that the startup is fully funded and provides the opportunity to work with colleagues with a long history of successful technology  enterprises.

You may have a degree within mechatronics or automation or other educations and experiences giving you a mix of relevant disciplines. The background enables you to solve challenges within mechanical, electrical and electronical disciplines. You might be a skilled worker or an engineer, but the right mindset and attitude to contribute is important. Also experience within Solidworks or similar is required.

In our environment, we work for the common good of the venture, also when tasks are outside your job description.

This position is a great opportunity. If interested – be quick to announce it to our recruiting partner Kennet Altamiranda Hansen with AvantGarde Search in Stavanger. (
